Legacy Campaign Receives Bank of Lockesburg Donation
September 27, 2016
UA Cossatot Foundation has kicked off the Legacy 2020 Campaign with an inaugural donation from the Bank of Lockesburg.
The Bank of Lockesburg made a substantial donation designated for the renovation of the historic Lockesburg High School Gymnasium. The college received a grant from the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council to begin renovations on the historic gymnasium and the donation made by the Bank of Lockesburg will finalize the restoration. As a result of the bank’s generosity, the structure will be renamed the UA Cossatot Bank of Lockesburg Gymnasium, pending the approval by the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees.
“We are honored that the Bank of Lockesburg has seen the value in our mission and has chosen to be the inaugural donor,” said Dustin Roberts, Coordinator of Development. “As we kick off our Legacy campaign, it’s inspiring for other businesses and individuals who want to support our efforts.”
The renovations to the gym have already begun by removing the foyer that was not a part of the original structure. Plans include restoring the building as closely as possible to the original nature while adding a few modern amenities and accommodations.
UA Cossatot Foundation’s Legacy 2020 Campaign is to focus on donors and corporations that wish to invest in the growth of the college on all three campuses. For every donation amount, a naming opportunity exists for donors who wish to leave a legacy for future students.
“We are delighted to work with our donors however suits the nature of their request,” said Roberts. “We can issue an invoice quarterly, annually, or at the initial investment.”
