Counseling Services
The following are services most commonly provided through the Counselor’s office at Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas:
- Academic guidance and resources
- Academic consultation re: career paths and resources
- Information and referrals for students, faculty, staff and community
- Informational services to school personnel and community regarding academically related issues
- Disability Services, which include, but are not limited to:
- promoting compliance with applicable laws, regulations and procedures for assuring equal access to post-secondary education for persons who have disabilities.
- determination of eligibility for services
- pre-registration advisement
- arrangement for accommodations for placement exams
- assistance in course selection and scheduling
- arrangement of and training with assistive technology and accommodations, studies strategies and skills
- identification and implementation of support services to assure equal access such as: facilities; note-takers; interpreters; readers and alternate formatting of materials, texts and testing
- assist in formulation of plan for addressing accommodations
- Advisement for students with personal development issues to enhance academic success
All information is kept confidential unless released by the signature of the student and/or his/her parent or guardian. The College’s services are provided by staff with specialized knowledge about challenges which may become barriers to education at the college level. Each student who requests assistance will receive confidential and respectful service.
