Ashdown, AR – The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program at UA Cossatot has been granted full 10-year reaccreditation by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) — the maximum reaccreditation term awarded. This milestone is accompanied by a commendation, recognizing the program for its exceptional quality and compliance throughout the review process.

CAPTE’s reaccreditation process is a rigorous evaluation of a program’s curriculum, faculty qualifications, student outcomes, and alignment with national standards. UA Cossatot’s program met and exceeded expectations in all areas, reinforcing its reputation for excellence in physical therapy education.

The reaccreditation highlights the program’s ongoing commitment to preparing students through hands-on clinical experiences, expert instruction, and a student-centered learning environment.

“The PTA Program Faculty and students have worked incredibly hard over the initial 5-year accreditation period to ensure the quality and sustainability of the Program,” said Dr. Jennifer Sanderson, Program Director. “The faculty is very proud of this accomplishment and looks forward to the next 10 years and beyond in providing quality education to graduate professionals who can meet the needs of our community with compassion and integrity.”

UA Cossatot’s PTA program continues to stand out as one of the most respected and accessible physical therapy assistant programs in Southwest Arkansas. Students graduate well-prepared to serve their communities and excel in the healthcare field.
