UA Cossatot is making preparations for the upcoming basketball season set to begin on January 22, 2021. The college is excited to announce that three students were selected to sing or play the national anthem for the Colts and Lady Colts home basketball games.

The three students include Tanesha Van Horn, Jare De La Rosa, and Haylie Melendez. Auditions to perform the national anthem took place on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the UA Cossatot Bank of Lockesburg Gymnasium. Tanesha Van Horn and Haylie Melendez sang the national anthem and Jare De La Rosa played the national anthem on the trumpet. These three students will perform the national anthem at selected games throughout the season.

The upcoming basketball season is scheduled to have eleven home games with the first set to take place on Monday, January 25, 2020. UA Cossatot High School Programs Assistant, Kaytlynn Franklin organized the auditions and said, “This is a great opportunity for our musically inclined students to showcase their talents, embrace their patriotism, and represent UA Cossatot in a whole new light.”

A second round of auditions has been scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the UA Cossatot Bank of Lockesburg Gymnasium at 12:00 p.m. for anyone who may have missed the first auditions.  Participants must be an enrolled UA Cossatot student and can also choose to sing or play the national anthem using any instrument.
