The UA Cossatot Colts and Lady Colts competed against the Murray State Aggies, yesterday November 3, at Tishomingo, OK.

In the women’s contest, the Lady Aggies defeated the Lady Colts 96-50. Ashley Starks led all scorers with 19 points, including four 3-pointers, and Khuyler Hardy added 8.

In the men's game, The Colts suffered a tough overtime loss on the road last night, falling to NJCAA Division I Murray State College 93-90. The Colts trailed at the half after the Aggies hit a three-point shot from near half-court to take a 39-36 lead. MSC built their lead to nine points on a couple of occasions in the second half, but the Colts battled back to close the gap to 81-79 with under 7 seconds to play. Decorian Phillips hit what initially appeared to be a game-winning three-pointer with 2 seconds to go. However, Phillips' shot was ruled to be a two-point basket, which tied the game at 81. Terry Anderson and Dalon Dean each picked up their fifth personal fouls in the five-minute overtime period, joining teammate Malik Nash, who had fouled out of the game earlier in the second half. Anderson led the Colts with 33 points; Dean had 11, while Phillips, Nash, and Shane Bell each added 10.

Athletic Director and Head Coach Robert Byrd said, “Last night was really good for us. Our teams had an opportunity to play in a hostile environment like none other at this level. Our ladies got hit hard last night and I believe they will be better down the road for it. Our guys had numerous opportunities and unfortunately just couldn’t pull it out.”

The next time out for the Colts will be this Saturday, November 6, when UAC hosts Southwest Christian College. Tipoff is set for 2 pm at the Historic Bank of Lockesburg Gymnasium.
