UA Cossatot Colts and Lady Colts played SAU-Tech on Thursday, February 25 at the UA Cossatot Bank of Lockesburg Historic Gymnasium.

UA Cossatot Lady Colts fell 64-37. They trailed by just 7 points at the half but struggled with turnovers all night. The Lady Colts were led by Mikayla Scott with 15 points, including 3 three-pointers. Kaylee Brooks made her UA Cossatot debut, coming off the bench to score 8, and was among the team leaders in rebounds.

In the men’s game, Rockets used their size advantage to alter the Colts' inside game. Couple that with a cold shooting night from the perimeter, and it all added up to an 85-60 loss for UA Cossatot. Kamren Woods led three Colts in double figures with 14. Terry Anderson had 13 and Micah Yarber added 10.

Head Coach and Athletic Director Robert Byrd said, “For the women’s team, I felt they gave us everything they had and unfortunately ran out of gas in the 3rd quarter. Overall, we need to do a better job of taking care of the basketball. For the men’s team, credit to SAU Tech. They came out with great intensity and we never were able to settle in and recover.”

The next game for the UA Cossatot Colts will be Saturday, February 27.  Both teams will travel to West Memphis to take on ASU-Mid South. The women tip-off at 2 pm with the men's game to follow. The games will be broadcasted all season long on ed88radio.com.
