For the fifteenth year in a row, the University of Arkansas Cossatot provided lunch to the participants of the Disabled Youth Deer Hunt on the Jones Ranch located near Mineral Springs.

The hunt is sponsored each year by the Southern Sportsmen Foundation in partnership with the Starch Creek Hunting Club.  The Southern Sportsman Foundation is a group of enthusiasts who share their love of the outdoors with people who have disabilities, including children and veterans.  Each year, this group raises funds to help provide exceptional outdoor activities for people can be excluded from these kinds of experiences which provide memories and enjoyment for a lifetime.

According to UA Cossatot Chancellor Dr. Steve Cole, “It is a true honor to be asked to participate in this deer hunt each year. To be part of the fellowship and the spirit of the event is so special and UA Cossatot is always humbled by the importance of what this group is doing.”

During the hunt, UA Cossatot staff provide a grilled hamburger lunch to all of the hunters and guides.
