The University of Arkansas Cossatot Physical Therapist Assistant Program will host a continuing education course for physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, physical therapists assistants, and occupational therapy assistants on March 9 and 10, 2019, on the Ashdown Campus.

The course is an introductory course titled, "Management of Adults with Neuromotor Disorders," and will include both lecture style and lab. The Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association (NDTA) will facilitate the two-day course and will collect all registrations and monies via the NDTA website.

This seminar will provide participants with current information about NDT, best practices in neuro rehabilitation, and review core NDT principles. Lecture, lab, demonstration, task analysis, problem-solving, and experiential learning will help participants improve their assessment and treatment skills for adults with neuromotor disorders. This practical hands-on training is important and relevant for all professions and practice settings in order to produce the most optimal outcomes. Course instructional material is relevant for beginners to advanced practitioners.

Jason Knox, PT, C/NDT, will facilitate the seminar. Knox is manager of a neuro rehabilitation program, and a physical therapist running a private practice. He has nearly twenty years of experience working with stroke, brain injury, and other neurologically impaired adults in the acute, rehabilitation, outpatient, and community home health phases of care. Knox has been involved in teaching NDT courses for fifteen years throughout North America and internationally, and is an NDTA Instructor for adult patient populations and every type of healthcare provider.

For NDTA members the course cost is $375 and for non-members it is $500. To register or for more information, please visit www.cccua.edu/NDT.
