The UA Cossatot Colts and Lady Colts played North Arkansas and SAU Tech in Searcy Tuesday, February 22.

The 2021-22 Lady Colts’ basketball season came to an end Tuesday in Searcy in the opening round of the NJCAA Division II Region 2 Tournament. The Lady Colts fell 70-61 to the Lady Rockets. After UAC tied the score at eight early in the game, the Lady Rockets scored 15 straight and maintained a double-digit lead through all but the final two minutes of the contest. Ashley Starks led UA Cossatot with 16, Mikayla Scott hit five three-pointers to finish with 15, and Khuyler Hardy had 10.

In the men’s game, the Colts fell 89-81 to North Arkansas College. The Colts scored the first 7 points of the contest but were unable to hold off the Pioneers. Malik Nash finished with 22 points for the Colts. Dalon Dean hit five threes on his way to a 21 point performance, while Kamren Woods finished his Colts career by scoring 16 points in the game.

Athletic Director and Head Coach Robert Byrd said, “It was a great season for both of our teams. I am really proud of the fight that they’ve shown all year.”
