The UA Cossatot Colts and Lady Colts played a pair of non-conference games Wednesday, January 26, against Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge.

In the women’s contest, the Lady Colts defeated WBC 62-56. UAC overcame a sluggish start to break a five-game losing streak. After falling behind by 10 in the second quarter, the Lady Colts rallied to take a 30-29 halftime lead and went on to win by six. Ashley Starks led UA Cossatot with 14 points, while Kayla Fuller added 12.

In the men’s game, the Colts defeated WBC 118-74. The Colts rolled to their 13th win of the season as Terry Anderson led the way with 33 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, and five blocked shots. Kamren Woods scored 26 points and recorded four steals. Dalon Dean had 24 points, including six three-pointers. Decorian Phillips scored 18.

UA Cossatot Athletic Director and Head Coach Robert Byrd said, “It was a must-needed win for both programs. I hope we can build on that going into Saturday’s conference game.”

Next on the schedule for the UAC teams will be a Saturday trip to Hot Springs for a pair of conference matchups at National Park Community College. The women will tip-off at 2:00 pm, the men at 4:00 pm.
