SAU Tech Rockets took both games from UA Cossatot Colts and Lady Colts Saturday, February 12,  at the UA Cossatot Bank of Lockesburg Gymnasium.

The Lady Colts trailed by three at halftime but lost to the Lady Rockets 66-52. SAU Tech had five in double figures. The Lady Colts had two in-double figures. Mikayla Scott and Kayla Fuller scored 10, while Amari Morrison, Anayzia Jefferson, and Khuyler Hardey each had 8 pts.

In the men’s contest, the Colts led at the half 38-35, but SAU Tech went on a 22-6 run at the beginning of the second half. The Rockets finished with 18 3-pointers and winning 88-79. For the Colts, Malik Nash had 25 pts., Kamren Woods added 19, Dalon Dean finished with 13, and Decorian Phillips added 11.

Next week, the Colts and Lady Colts will be at home in Lockesburg against National Park on Thursday, February 17, and will travel to West Memphis Saturday, February 19, to wrap up the regular season against ASU Midsouth.

Athletic Director and Head Coach Robert Byrd said, “Both teams competed at a high level for the first 20 minutes, but we weren’t able to put together a full game. Big-time thank you to the De Queen High School Band and everyone in the community that came out to support. We look forward to seeing you for our final home game this Thursday.”
